About Us
Our Story
Joyful Ranch Counseling began with a simple but powerful mission: to bring hope and healing to people carrying the weight of trauma. Founded in 2023 by Jackie Carlino, LPC, CCTP Joyful Ranch Counseling was born out of her own journey of healing and a deep desire to help others break free from the wounds of their past. Jackie’s lived experience, professional training in trauma-focused therapies, and passion for animals inspired a unique approach to counseling that blends evidence-based care with the restorative presence of rescued animals.
Located on a peaceful ranch in Springtown, Texas, Joyful Ranch Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to making mental health care both accessible and transformative. Here, rescued horses, mini pigs, ducks, dogs, and other animals become partners in healing — offering comfort, connection, and a gentle path toward growth.
Our Mission
I believe that everyone has the potential to live a fulfilling and meaningful life. By identifying and working towards their goals, clients can unlock their full potential and create a life they love. A life with joy, happiness, and love. "All things are possible with God" (Matthew 29:26)
Joyful Ranch Counseling is a non-profit organization that works to rescue animals that help people heal! We use rescued horses, and dogs, to help each client have affordable mental health care. We offer a sliding scale fee. We understand that life is expensive, but your mental health should not suffer because of finances. That is why we offer a discounted rate for people who make less than 50k a year.
We strive to help people have great counseling at a low price.
Our Values
At Joyful Ranch Counseling, we provide compassionate, individualized care in a safe and welcoming ranch setting. We believe healing grows through trust, respect, and genuine connection.
We are committed to ethical, evidence-based counseling that honors each person’s unique story while fostering hope, resilience, and meaningful growth. Grounded in the restorative power of nature and community, we walk alongside individuals and families as they move toward greater emotional well-being.

Jackie has several years of experience working with PTSD, DID, sexually exploited adults, equine assisted activities, teen group therapy, and young adults.
Counseling others is something that God put on my heart many years ago. I look at my counseling practice in Springtown as a way to reach many hurting people and help them see the joy and peace God provides us as we heal from the past.
